COAXIS
AML & KYC

Integrity is a process, not a promise.

Who we do business with, and on what evidence. This is how COAXIS identifies, verifies, and monitors every relationship — aligned with UAE anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing regulation.

Financial crime

Long-term capital only compounds on a clean foundation. Knowing exactly who stands behind every relationship isn't paperwork — it is the first underwriting we do.

COAXIS applies a risk-based framework built on the standards of the Financial Action Task Force and UAE Federal law. Every counterparty is identified and verified before onboarding, screened against sanctions and politically-exposed-person lists, risk-rated, and then monitored for as long as the relationship lasts. The diagrams below walk through each stage.

The onboarding journey

1 Identify 2 Verify 3 Screen 4 Assess 5 Diligence 6 Monitor
Stage 01

Identify

We collect the full identity of every counterparty and, for entities, the individuals who ultimately own or control them — legal name, date of birth or incorporation, nationality or domicile, official identification, and address. No relationship proceeds anonymously.

Stage 02

Verify

Identity is confirmed against independent, reliable sources — official documents, registries, and trusted electronic verification. We establish that the person or entity is who they claim to be before any commitment is made.

Stage 03

Screen

Every party is screened against sanctions lists, politically-exposed-person databases, and adverse-media sources. Matches are reviewed by a person, not dismissed by a system — and anything unresolved stops the relationship.

Stage 04

Assess risk

Each relationship is rated for money-laundering and financing risk across geography, ownership structure, sector, and the nature of the activity. That rating sets how much diligence follows — and how closely we watch afterwards.

Stage 05

Due diligence

Standard cases receive customer due diligence; higher-risk cases receive enhanced due diligence — establishing source of funds and source of wealth, mapping beneficial ownership in full, and requiring senior sign-off before onboarding.

Stage 06

Monitor

Onboarding is the start, not the end. Relationships are monitored for unusual activity, refreshed on a schedule set by their risk rating, and escalated for reporting where required. Records are kept for the periods the law prescribes.

A risk-based approach

Effort follows risk

Not every relationship carries the same risk, so not every relationship receives the same scrutiny. Each is placed on a tier that determines the depth of diligence and the frequency of review.

01 — Lower

Simplified diligence

Well-understood, transparent counterparties in low-risk jurisdictions. Standard identification and verification, with periodic review.

02 — Standard

Customer due diligence

The default. Full identification, verification, screening, and beneficial-ownership checks, with monitoring across the life of the relationship.

03 — Higher

Enhanced due diligence

Politically-exposed persons, complex structures, or higher-risk geographies. Source of funds and wealth established, senior approval required, and closer ongoing monitoring.

Never a one-time check

The monitoring cycle

Once a relationship is live, diligence becomes continuous — a loop that runs for as long as the relationship does.

What we require

Non-negotiables

01

Verified identity

No counterparty is onboarded without independently verified identity and, for entities, full beneficial ownership.

02

Source of funds & wealth

For higher-risk relationships, we establish where money comes from and how wealth was built before proceeding.

03

Sanctions & PEP screening

Continuous screening against sanctions, PEP, and adverse-media data, with human review of every alert.

04

No cash, no anonymity

We do not accept anonymous arrangements or unexplained cash. Every flow must be traceable to a verified party.

05

Ongoing monitoring

Relationships are watched for unusual activity and refreshed on a risk-based schedule — diligence never expires.

06

Records & reporting

Complete records are retained for the periods the law prescribes, and suspicious activity is reported to the competent authorities.
